Bio

Buying and selling real estate is serious business. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun along the way. I married my grade-school sweetheart 40+ years ago and raised two beautiful daughters in Denver, CO. We moved to Portland, OR in 2003. After a successful, albeit stressful career in IT consulting management, it was time to do something I was passionate about. Combining my love for architecture and desire to help people, I found the perfect marriage in real estate. But not just any real estate... As pre-construction listing agent for some of Portland's finest condominium developments such as the Eliot and Waterfront Pearl, I gained a great deal of experience and knowledge unique to Portland condominium construction methods, homeowner associations and collective community personalities. As a buyer OR seller, it is risky to work with an agent who does not have an understanding of the complexities associated with this type of home ownership. I am an owner of an urban west-side condominium and have owned several condos in some of the premier developments of Gerding Edlen, John Carroll and Jack Onder. I have represented condo buyers and sellers in Portland's Pearl District, Downtown, Nob Hill and Goose Hollow neighborhoods. I understand the challenges and opportunities associated with new vs old. Concrete vs wood-frame. Large vs boutique. The other half of my passion lies with inner-city, historic properties. I grew up in a family of contractors. I have personally renovated several turn-of-the century homes. I appreciate the differences between a lipstick fix-n-flip and a historic restoration. As a listing agent, it is my privilege to help prepare the property for sale, then represent the seller's interests and priorities as it relates to price, features and amenities. As a buyer's agent, it is a thrill to match clients to the urban home and neighborhood that reflects their style, values and priorities. Regardless of whether I am representing the buyer or the seller, I love the art of the negotiation. Portland has a dynamic urban core with an amazing number of unique, historic neighborhoods to choose from. It has a balanced attitude towards living and an urban plan that is interested in preserving what is cool while growing its density. If you want to live vertically in a glass/concrete penthouse, call me. If you are looking for an 1890's Victorian fixer, call me. If you want to buy or sell a McMansion in the slurbs, call that other guy. Friends don't let friends live in the suburbs...
