Bio

When I finished high school, I was drafted into Major League Baseball. It was something I’d loved for years and
worked towards throughout my youth. When the moment came that I was given a team to play for, I was over the
moon. It was a last-minute draft pick, and I’d been gearing up to start college the following fall.
Playing ball was what I had dreamed about for years, and at first, I loved it. But, over the years, things changed. I
began to feel stuck in place, playing for the same team, chasing a dream that no longer excited me. It was during
this time, that everything in my life changed.
My family was out at a local burger restaurant, walking to our cars after our weekly Sunday dinner. I was there with
some of my siblings, my parents, my wife at the time, and my oldest daughter. My mother had been suffering
massive heartburn for nearly a week and was due to see her doctor the following day. She was almost to her car
when I heard her tell my father, “Oh wow, I feel better, the heartburn is gone.” Then she reached into her purse for
the keys and shouted out, “I’m going down, Lynn, catch me.” My father raced to her side and caught her, but she
was already gone.
She’d suffered a massive heart attack and the paramedics knew when they arrived that she didn’t have a chance.
Losing her in an instant like that, threw my world upside down. It got me thinking, if I wasn’t doing what I loved,
what was the point? A month later, I found out my second daughter was on the way and knew my priorities had
shifted. I quit baseball and threw myself into something else I’d already been working on, construction.
My father had been in construction my whole life and in those final years on the team, I started working with him
during the off-season. I loved coming up with designs and bringing them to fruition with my own two hands. It was
an obsession I’d had my whole life, doodling floor plans in class when others were drawing cartoons. This led me to
become a resource to others I knew who were buying homes, they’d call me to check out the home they were
looking at and tell them what was possible.
Real estate was something else that had been a part of me my entire life, my mother was a REALTOR® and brought
me into her world. She’d always loved design as well and was constantly updating our home with a fresh look.
Those days I spent with her picking out carpet samples, tiles, curtains, she told me what to look for in a design, and I
listened.
After doing construction for a few years, it became clear to me that real estate was where I was meant to be. In
2013, I got my real estate license and was able to start helping those I knew with their homes from start to finish.
Bringing together the construction, carpentry, and design to help each one create the home of their dreams.
In 2016, my family grew again when I married my wife, Mindy. Now, I have five beautiful children. I never regret
giving up baseball and following in the path of my parents, it’s the future I’d been looking for all along. When I lost
my mom all those years ago, I realized you have to make time for what’s important in your life, don’t chase empty
dreams. I cherish every second with my family, and I still play softball once in a blue moon.
